Provincial campsite which we have reserved about one week in advance. We arrived around 4pm to find a mobile home in our pitch. We explained that we had reserved/ paid for the pitch (we had our confirmation on the phone). They moved on within 10 to 15 minutes after they packed up! Then a ranger came around to check our reservation. 😃 we finally got set up and settled in. The campsite as bear proof bins, pit toilets and water. There were picnic benches and fire pits on each pitch. The ranger explained that raccoons can be a bit mischievous and to ensure a Bare Campsite ( which we always do anyway) in case of raccoon visitors. The rangers were selling firewood for $10 a bundle but we didn’t need a fire as we had a stove. Our neighbours were friendly and respectful. Ranger drove around the site approx each hour. Always good as they can check all is in order. Bamberton park is approx 1.6 km away with a cold water outdoor shower if you are brave enough.

It's a great small campground, clean and well-maintained, just off the highway. There is not much to do in the campground itself; it is perfect for the base camp to explore the area.

We love this campground. Nice size, it has privacy, quiet, drinkable water, and a clean washroom. The worker will empty the garbage and clean the washroom every day. This is probably the only campground that is really well maintained. It was fun to go jogging at the beach, and the hiking trail was the best. Perfect for those who like cardio. This campground is a very affordable price, but you need to make a reservation. It takes only 30 minutes to go to Victoria, which is a good option. There are many spots for beach access, which is only 5 minutes away and we enjoyed it very much. Overall great experience, and we will come back here again.

The campground is a fair hike back uphill from the beach if you go by foot. The trail is nice though and the beach is great for swimming. It is a great place to stay and visit some of the other spectacular places in the area. It is also very close to Victoria if you are wanting to spend time there as well as it makes a great spot for tourists. There are only a few first-come-first served spots though so reservations are highly recommended during the summer months.

Nice camp ground on the island. Perfect to explore the island as things are relatively close from here, 30 mins to Victoria and about an hour to Nanaimo. Campground has a trail going down to the inlet but it's a hike up of about 15 minutes or so uphill. No showers on site.
