About This Campsite

Bates Beach Oceanfront Resort

Bates Beach Oceanfront Resort offers a small, family-friendly camping experience right on the oceanfront, allowing you to fall asleep to the soothing sound of waves. Available amenities include an adventure playground for kids and pet-friendly facilities. The resort provides a great opportunity to enjoy beautiful ocean views and observe local wildlife, such as seals at low tide.

Key Details:

  • Family-friendly campsite
  • Adventure playground for children
  • Pet-friendly environment
  • Oceanfront locations with amazing views

Important Considerations:

  • Privacy: Campsites are small with limited privacy.
  • Rules and Regulations: Only one tent per site is allowed without exceptions, even for small backpacking tents.
  • Visitor Policies: Visitors have restricted access to facilities such as washrooms.
  • Weather Conditions: Non-waterfront spots may lack sunlight and can be damp in wet weather.
  • Noisy Environment: The campground can get loud, especially on weekends with barking dogs.

Overall Thoughts: Bates Beach Oceanfront Resort is ideal for families with children and pet owners due to its family-friendly amenities and pet-friendly policies. However, potential visitors should note the strict tent policies and limited privacy between campsites. Despite the occasional noisy environment and the small, dated facilities, the scenic oceanfront views and friendly staff make it a unique place to unwind and enjoy beach activities.

Small lovely family friendly campsite. You'll hear the waves at all sites. We loved bates beach being watched by the seals on the rocks at low tide. Our kids loved the adventure playground on the site, thank you for the great stay 👍

Beautiful location, small tenting sites without much privacy. But they do have a few big trees around that provide shade which is nice. We had a very poor experience with their guest service. We were two adults with a very small backpacking tent each to sleep in. They wouldn’t allow us to put both small tent on the site despite having sufficient room. They have a rule of only one tent per site, (with a maximum of 5 people from the same family). The reason behind this rule is to ease pressure on their water/sewage systems (questionable reason for such a rule, since two individuals in the same tent do not consume more water!). We kindly offered creative solutions to allow us not to be obligated to share our small tent, but it was declined. They did offer us to pay for another campsite to pitch our second small tent on which tell us what their true reason for this rule is…

Location is great! Get a waterfront spot. We didn't have one and the weather was wet. We were in a corner so no sun. Everything was damp. But the price is right. The view is amazing. Very pet friendly. Lots of barking dogs. Sites were clean. Staff are friendly. The weekend was a bit loud until about 1. Other nights were quiet. This was our 18th spot in 90 days.

Expensive no visitors no extra tent even if willing to pay. If a visitor comes they can't use the washrooms. Worst 2 notes I've spent at a campsite. Campsite 20' X 35' we kept bumping into the neighbour's while setting up. No privacy!

Got a tent site here for 2 nights. Extended it to 3. Yes, the place is a little dated and cramped, but it is well maintained, and the location is A1. Miles of beaches, quiet and friendly management. A great spot to veg out and watch the world slide by.
