User Reviews and Tips

  • Reservation Issues: Some visitors have experienced reservation mix-ups upon arrival. It's recommended to double-check your booking details before arrival.
  • Noise Levels: The campground can be quite lively with frequent golf cart traffic and sometimes loud music, especially late at night. If you prefer a quieter experience, this may not be the ideal camping spot.
  • Beach and Lake Conditions: The lake is used by geese, which sometimes results in less-than-ideal conditions for swimming and lounging. Expect a daily cleanup of the beach area in the mornings.
  • Sanitation Facilities: Bathrooms have been reported as not very clean; managing expectations in this regard could enhance your experience.
  • Staff: The staff is generally reviewed as friendly and helpful, which can improve your stay significantly.

Overall Thoughts

Camping Canne De Bois offers a mixed bag of experiences. The friendly and helpful staff work hard to accommodate guests, but issues like noise, cleanliness, and the state of recreational facilities can be a drawback. It’s a suitable place for those who enjoy a more social and lively camping atmosphere, but may not meet the needs of campers seeking tranquility and pristine conditions.

It was alright but... somehow the reservation was cancelled once got there and they could not find out why. They were able to find us a spot quickly. Don't stay at site 88-89-90. There is a streetlamp right in front so chilling outside with a fire is useless. Golf carts, every day and night. Non stop, just cruising around. The beach was nice. They listened to the critics about the geese issue and every moning they clean up the sand. Overall, it was a good experience with a 21' rented camper. Im not gonna go back again, not my type of camping but some people live there all summer.

We just wanted to swim after a hot day in Safari park, they let us in in the evening for a charge of $17 for a car saying that they have a lake to swim in but no pool for us. But they forgot to mention that their lake is used by tens of geese and that there is no clean space to walk or lay down on a beach and water is so dirty that it smells. Water park didn't work, the playground and all the toys on it were broken 💔😭 won't advise

The staff are absolutely wonderful. However, the bathrooms are not clean. The golf carts that drive around with music blaring with flood lights during all hours of the night is not my idea of camping. Also, there are leaches in the lakes :-( If you want to go to party, then this place is for you. I will not be returning.

First I'll say that the staff was very friendly and helpful, my issue was with the other residents. I was staying in the tent camping section, we choose this because it is more secluded and quiet it being in the woods away from all the trailers. However residents were constantly driving by on the golf carts for no other reason other than to take in the sights I guess, (because we were the only people camping there that weekend and you don't need to drive past there unless your are renting a plot.) Anyway the people were loud and would often slow down just to stare at us as if we were some kind of zoo attraction. It really tool away from the camping experience. I would suggest that they ask residents not to enter that area unless they are actually camping.

The lone staff member whom I met was very courteous and helpful, while being kept very busy. I found the washrooms to be at an acceptable level of cleanliness. But the campground, at least the tent camping section, was very loud. I realize that being awakened at 2:30 a.m. by loud music and loud voices for about an hour is beyond the management's control, but perhaps spot checks and expulsions need to be done. I was on site S6; the loud music was at site S7 on the night of Friday, 30 July, 2021. All being said, I can't recommend this campground.
