Tips and Considerations
- Highly recommended for families, particularly those with young children, due to the range of activities available.
- Spacious and clean lots, with plenty of shade and essential services.
- Convenient on-site general store, eliminating the need to leave the campground during your stay.
- No sewer hookups available; however, bookings of more than 4 days receive one free pump-out service.
- The campground can get busy, especially around the pool and the front of the store, so plan accordingly.
- Maintenance has seen some changes; new ownership has resulted in increased prices for on-site amenities like the chip truck and pizza shack.
- If traveling with a large RV, note that some turns can be tight due to tall pines and close lot setups.
Overall Thoughts
Cardinal Ottawa South KOA Holiday stands out as an excellent destination for family camping trips. The variety of kid-friendly amenities and activities ensures that young campers will have a memorable visit. While the park has undergone some changes under new ownership, it continues to provide a welcoming environment with clean facilities and a helpful staff. However, considering the increased costs and lack of sewer hookups, more budget-conscious campers may need to weigh these factors. Overall, it's a lively and convenient spot, particularly suited for family gatherings and fun getaways close to home.

Family friendly campground. Great for families with young children. Themed events every weekend with lots of fun to keep the kids busy from morning to night. Value for money in terms of site fees is not good considering that $100/night only includes water/electric. There are no sewer hookups on any sites and there is a $15 fee for the mobile pump truck. Campground maintenance has gone down since the last time we were here (2021). I understand that there are new owners now. The prices at the chip truck and pizza shack have also increased considerably. Again, has me questioning the value for money. Our kids are almost teenagers. This will probably be the last time we visit. I’m disappointed that this park isn’t what it used to be :(

This isn't my usual camping style but it is my second time here with kids and friends and I always recommend it to friends with kids or grandparents:) There is so much to do, activities all day for the kids. All Lots are spacious and clean, there's allot of shade and have all services. cabins are super cute. It's a fun getaway close to home. Everyone is always happy! the general store is very handy, no need to leave the campground during your stay.

Nice KOA. Very busy over a weekend. Pool was full. If you want to avoid kids, don't go to this park. If you want to camp with your kids, then go here. Pool and front of store was very busy. Park is well kept. The sites are tight if you have a large rig. Lots of tall pines which make some turns tight. No septic hook up, but any booking over 4 days gives you 1 free pump out. Staff were friendly.

Excellent facilities for a 10 year old grandchild. She loved the heated pool (as did I), the two playgrounds, mini golf, "peddle bike" rental, the bouncy feature, the daily activities, including the Saturday night movie, although the mosquitoes were active, and the camp store. Friendly staff. The campground and washrooms were clean. Campground was quiet at night. Well located to visit local tourist sites such as Upper Canada Village, The Lost Towns Museum, and the historic SDG jail (Cornwall). Stayed July 8 to 15/24.

Outstanding Family Campground. Very friendly and professional services throughout the booking process as well as on site. We were a group of 30+ adults and chidren and stayed in the 4 Lodges and 6 deluxe cabins. Very clean and comfortable. I would not recommend 6 adults in the Lodges as the space is pretty small. Perfect for 4 people. Property is very well maintained and accomodations are super clean and were close together for our big family weekend. They are located right beside the kids park and pool, so it was very convenient. Highly recommend this KOA.
