We had a great time here this summer, it was nice we were able to rent a canoe right at the beach. Also having a canteen with some food is awesome. Unfortunately the beach with sand is very little so filled up fast not great for swimming. Also zero cell phone reception.

Aug 30 2024 we spent the night at Dollar Lake and I couldn’t believe how dirty it was. They must be in need of staff, because it was obvious they were behind on their cleaning. When we arrived, the trees behind our site had plastic trash left behind from the previous visitors, the sinks for cleaning your dishes were clogged and filled with dirty water and food, and in the bathroom, the toilet seat was covered in urine, and I had to wash it with toilet paper (no paper towel available) and soap before we could use it. Disgusting. The camping sites are also clearly not made with tenting in mind, they are just gravel, ugly and hard. This was our first visit, and based on this impression, it will also be our last. We chose this spot because it’s close to the city and the sites are private, but there are other choices which are much better taken care of.

Really nice park and a good break from the normal day to day, hardly any cell reception to which is really nice and helps keep y out disconnected

I have avoided this park for years after going camping there when it first opened and was eaten alive my mosquitoes, but today we went back for a walk as part of the "Walk The Waterway" challenge. The park has not aged well and except for nice new showers everything was looking a bit run down. Campsites are large but do not look well maintained. There were no staff on hand at all, and signage was lacking. we were looking for hiking trails, and there was not even a central map sign, and the trails were hard to find. The roads are in terrible shape with uneven surfaces and deep potholes. BUT, there were no mosquitoes . . . . .

Awesome day at the beach. One of the easiest beaches to access. With physical limitations we need ramps around stairs like this beach has. Washroom was clean. There are lots of shade trees beside the beach for those of us that need it. Because it is inland it often is warmer than other beaches in the early part of the season. Yesterday it was the only one of eight beaches I checked that had sunshine and warm temperatures. Pictures taken from the little island that is next to the beach. Ate our lunch on the island. Beautiful scenery
