⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Truly Amazing Experience! I had the most incredible time visiting Elk Island National Park near Edmonton. Nice park, with extremely friendly staff where ever I met them. The trails I hiked were well maintained and I got my wish of seeing some bison fairly close. Would recommend going early in the morning or in the later evening as that's when they are more active. Unfortunately, I didn't get to see any bears and not too many elk, but I'll return with more time and try again. Trailheads usually had outhouses but I would suggest using the washrooms at the visitor centre.

Absolutely beautiful place will come back here again! So many amazing trails to walk and admire the scenery! Got a nice ice cream from the truck and enjoyed a picnic on the many benches that are around :)
