Spent two nights at the campground in late August. Far from the nearest highway, it was very peaceful at night. Coyotes could be heard howling nearby and far away at various times of the night. The night sky is unbelievable on a clear night - we could see the Milky Way. The facilities at the campground are basic but great. The outhouses don’t smell, are well lit at night and cleaned every day. There are three drinking water taps and places to easily dispose of grey water. The cookhouse/coulee centre is open 24/7 and is a cozy place to cook and shelter from any inclement weather. Be warned that the winds can be strong and relentless out here and there is nothing in the way of wind breaks or shelter (except for the coulee centre). If you are tenting please come prepared. The feeling of peace you get in this park is truly something else. I would definitely recommend this place if you want to get away from it all and see the big beautiful open skies. It was an experience I enjoyed and won’t soon forget.

Nice little campground tucked away in Grasslands National Park. Clean and well maintained facilities although no showers. Great trails and fantastic views everywhere you look. We also saw lots of wildlife throughout our stay.

Campground sights well spaced apart. Fairly level. Pit toilets are well cleaned. 50amp/30amp/15 amp power is reliable. Lots of water stations. Neg. Fill your fresh water tanks before coming into park (interpretative center has water). Sewage dump station is well away from campground. It's primitive hole in the ground no grey water for flushing tank. Pit toilets are high and hand sanitizer has not been replenished in 10 day's? Don't think about using your outdoor carpets or RV awnings here. The wind will take them away lol. And keep your site clean! Camper's toys get blown away. Fun to watch people stumbling around looking for their toys in the morning.

Wide open spaces + can be windy++ May need to tether your tent to the picnic table :) So quiet + absolute darkness at night, you are in nature! Coulee Centre great shelter space with propane BBQs available, picnic tables inside + out, microwave + kettle, wifi reception good. Sliding barn door style to let the outdoors in. Nicely done. Close to all the hiking.

We stayed in an Otentik for 3 nights. What a great experience! The Otentik gave us shelter from the wind (which was relentless), and there is also the Coulee Centre which has tables and a place to cook. There are very clean pit toilets, firepits, and the Otentik has a bbq, which was great. My only complaint is that there were some items in the Otentik that were broken including the screen on one window, and it was quite loud inside with the wind. The campground has direct access to several walking trails including Tipi Ridge, Broken Hills, and the Belza Day Use. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets, coyotes and nighthawks at night, and lots of singing birds during the day. Very serene. The campground itself is very open, you are in the grasslands after all, so do not expect privacy at your campsite. You can shower at the Val Marie campground, but for 3 days it wasn't necessary to drive in. I would stay again. Great access for the Park and hiking.
