We stayed one night on our way up North and while the campsite was very nice and the list of amenities was great, we were super disappointed about the pool. When we checked in we were told the pool opened at 10. We figured we would load up and then go to the pool for an hour before checkout at 11. We could have opted for a late check out but another 20 dollars on top of an already 80 dollar campsite seemed a bit ridiculous. When we got there the pool was closed for seniors hour. We were super surprised to find out that with checkout at 11 you essentially couldn’t use the pool on your last day there unless you forked over another 20 dollars. It sucked not getting to use the one amenity we truly came for and for feeling like we weren’t given all the details at check in. I don’t know why they wouldn’t make the seniors hour 9-10 considering most seniors are usually up a bit earlier than the rest. When we checked with the front desk if our 1 year old could float for 20 minutes as there were only a few seniors in the pool she said no which we assumed would be the case. We had also asked at check in that, if at all possible, we could be in a more treed area. She had said yes and told me that the full service (10 dollars more a night then just power and water, which we had asked for) were the more treed sites so we paid the extra ten dollars for full service and somehow were put in the one spot with a tree that had just been cut down. The site did also have some glass in it which was a fairly easy clean up but disappointing. All in all I’d say if the cost of the campsite was closer to 50-60 dollars a night it wouldn’t have been such a disappointment, and if we had been able to stay another night and experience the pool, and if our extra 10 dollars a night had actually gotten us a lot with some trees, it would have been 5 stars, but for 80 dollars for one night I just feel like there’s a few things that need to be addressed.

We went to the Half Moon Lake Resort for a day use visit. It was a pretty great experience. We planned on using our inflatable raft to travel from the resort's beach to the opposite side of the lake and back to the beach. It was easy to purchase a day use wristband from the main office. It was reasonably priced at $15/adult. The attendant provided all necessary information about day use and what it included. Accessing and signing the waiver (via QR code) was very simple. The parking was directly adjacent to the beach. There weren't a whole lot of people there on our visit so there weren't any issues inflating our raft and getting it on the water. One thing...there's a lot of goose poop around so watch your step! The lake was in excellent shape. I think we'll definitely visit this resort again. It's an excellent place for a fun day outdoors.

I didn’t like Half Moon at all, the staff were ignorant at the front gate and the campsites are so close together like sardines, no trees and not private. Our site was not clean and the bathrooms were dirty. We tried to go and see the campground before booking but they wouldn’t even let us in to view the campground before booking, not impressed with them at all. We booked 3 nights and went home after the first night.

We stayed for a night at Cabin 1. The cabin was very clean and comfortable. The lake was very good! No itching and no leeches at all! The washrooms and showers were super nice and clean. My only complaint is the super hot water on the showers. But I definitely recommend this place and we will coming back soon.

To be clear- I sent my concerns to the management team and did not receive a response. I always want to give people a chance to address concerns prior to a review but the radio silence tells me they don’t care. (Their response below tells you all you need to know- to be clear… this has nothing to do with scooters and the fact that they never replied to my email, and continue to fail health inspections is telling- what a poor way to operate a business). I wanted to express my disappointment with half moon lake resort. To start, our site was filthy. There were nicotine pouches and cigarette butts all over the site. There were also beer cans in the fire pit. This tells me staff is not cleaning sites in between stays which posed significant risk to my toddler. My husband spent 30 minutes cleaning the site before we felt moderately comfortable letting him play under strict supervision. The pool water appeared to be very foggy, and I have concerns over the water quality. It appeared to have far too many people for the size of the pool. Our child got extremely ill within a day of being in the pool with a virus that resulted in a hospital visit although we cannot confirm that it was directly as a result of this pool, my gut tells me it was due to the nature of the virus. The cleanliness of the pool can be reflected on AHS’ website - they continue to fail inspections which I wish I would have known prior to arriving. The bathrooms were not cleaned- plugged toilets, no toilet paper, and completely filthy. Lastly, the women who works at the front desk in the store (Jesse I believe is her name) was not only inhospitable, but a vile human. She treated us horribly until she realized we were there assessing if we wanted a seasonal lot. Needless to say, our standards far surpass what they are offering. The price is astronomical for a pool that is packed, poor facilities, and so many rules. If you’re staying nightly there is also a pet fee. They are planning on adding more sites (I was told 110). I feel for the current seasonal campers, and would caution anyone who is looking to invest that they seem in over their heads. Like I said, the management did not address these concerns. They heavily advertise a family campground, and what we experienced was a weekend of anxiety and stress because of the health and safety concerns..
