After one season we decided to pull out for various reasons, But the main reason is the cost. I was located in phase 3 all in with my boat slip it was close to $12,000 a year and for what you get I find it quite ridiculous. The bathrooms on every phase are nice and clean. The grounds are kept immaculate. The staff is very friendly. The problem is for the money you pay it’s just not worth it. I expected it to be flooded with people when in reality it was quite empty all of the time except for the last long weekend in August it was really the only fun weekend we had. The pool sits around 80° but we have a pool at home and to be honest the pool on the campsite is very small. The splash pad is fun, but didn’t last long with my kids they were bored and the pirate ship really only has slides and not much else to do for the kids. I decided to purchase a boat slip because that is the only real way you can have a boat at this campsite is to pay $1100 for a boat slip, There is no beach due to the water level until about the middle of July and the algae was so bad by September you couldn’t even swim in the water so really we only got around four good weekends at the beach using the boat. All in all, we had a lot of fun for the season but it’s just not worth the money if it’s not hot and the sun’s not out there’s not much to do….

Just spent this last weekend at Highland Pines in Phase 2. Upon arrival the park was clean well organized and easy to get around. Instruction for checking in was clear and easy. Check-in process was easy and we were on our way to our campsite in less than 5 minutes. Plenty of drive room for larger trucks and campers. Arrived at our site and noticed how HUGE it was. Massive, clean and simple sites. We were situated near a pool (was closed) and splash pad and large park. Saturday we ventured off to see the famous pirate ship. WOW, what a fun playground. Sand everywhere for the kids to roll in- heck us adults had just as much fun! Noticed the pool and splash pad in that Phase were open so we went back and got our suits on. Not only was the pool warm (pretty sure it was heated or maybe it was just so cold outside it felt warm) IT WAS SALT WATER! Clean pool and lots of room for everyone to swim. Later in the evening went for a drive to see how big this campground is and holy moly- its massive. Love that all phases have different feels. Phase 1 is beautiful and a lot of trees. Phase 2 in more traditionally what I have seen campgrounds to be and Phase 3 was all newer models- looks like adding more sites also. We had 2 dogs with us so a dog park is pretty important and this was more than just a caged yard- there was an agility course for the dogs! When we went in there were 2 seasonal campers there and they came right up to us, introduced their dogs and asked all about our transient adventures and how we were enjoying the grounds. Felt extremely welcoming by everyone we crossed paths with. If you have pets and kids I highly recommend this campground. My only complaints are- there were no bumper stickers (but there were small stickers) and I always like to get my kids a new shirt or sweater and there was no adults sm/med and they were white. This could simply be just because it was end of season and again is just a personal thing- not anything pertaining to the park itself. I cannot wait to visit again next year! and will be highly recommending to all our friends and family.

What a great place. Have been camping here for many years. Our kids loved this place for the pool, activities and playground. We didn’t even go to lake side. Didn’t need too. So much to do on the other side. The group area was host to a decade of August long weekends.

This is our first season and I’ve gotten great service already. When the previous season trailer left, they left a mess in site. I emailed Carlos, and they cleaned up right away just in time for us to “move-in” our trailer. We look forward to a great season!

As a camper we are not made of sugar. For $100/night we had a terrible site. Flood under camper and awning after rain shower and so many golf carts speeding by it was too loud to talk
