Oshawa Waterfront Trail - Camp X and Lake West Park Point of Interest was Camp X Memorial which was a spy training camp. There was a CBC series two years ago Company X which was based on this spy camp. The endpoint of the hike was Lake West Park.

The original site of Camp X which was a WWII training facility for Spies from 1941-1946 lead by a man known as “Intrepid” (Sir William Stephenson). It was interesting to learn about the history of the site. The downside is there is no parking in the area.

Very appropriate for a Canadian spy training site. There is nothing but a memorial to confirm it ever existed. A bit of a disappointment for some of our co-travellers and it fell on the rest of us to explain the history of Camp X.
