Amazing beach, been going here since 2000 when I moved to Victoria. Sometimes it can be a zoo other times it can be completely dead. A good time to go is when the tide is up, granted you can't walk as far as usual but very few people are there at that time and if you have dogs they can have a blast and run free without little care or worry.

At high tide it is impossible to go right from the boat launch. Someone has decimated the coast lone with tree stumps making it impassable. This makes me very sad. We use to walk our dogs for hours. But some organization has taken that from. Us.

Great sandy Beach 15 minutes from the Swartz Bay ferry terminal. Popular beach all year round for swimming, paddle boarding, beach combing... There is very cool drift wood hut so explore your little heart out. Plenty of parking for vehicles of all sizes.

Overcast and cold day but it's always wonderful to hear the sounds of the ocean, seagulls and the occasional sea plane.
