Legend has it that eight fathers, using only their bare hands, constructed a remarkable structure they named The Seahorse Den, also known as the Seahorse Beach Club. By day, it serves as a robust play area, shielding their children from the elements. By night, it transforms into a beach club where parents can relax and enjoy the ocean view. The structure was crafted entirely from materials found nearby, without the use of nails or screws. Built with professional insights, it stands resilient against the elements and the test of time. The upper roof deck, designed for stargazing, has been tested to support the weight of eight men (approximately 1,500 pounds). Beneath the deck, stepped terraces provide a sheltered resting area, with rock flooring that absorbs heat from the sun during the day and radiates warmth at night. At the entrance, a gathering area fosters meaningful conversations and offers a magnificent view of the Salish Sea. The Seahorse Beach Club, or Seahorse Den, is located near the gazebo at Island View Beach.

Interesting that all the tent sites seemed to just be in what was an apple orchard? I did not like the smell of rotting fruit all around us and my daughter said she saw some rats around. Ugg, didn’t like that. And sites are super, duper close together too. The porta a potties were pretty unkept, out of TP and just stinky. Wished had better toilets and water. Did enjoy walking along the water though and the recycle bins
