Facilities and Amenities

This family-friendly campground is known for its clean, well-kept facilities, including a fantastic swimming pool and a new concession area with a good menu and delicious ice cream. Activities

  • Water Activities: The 93km-long lake is perfect for boating, kayaking, canoeing, and fishing, especially given the distance maintained from Bird Island for safe paddling.
  • Sports & Recreation: The park boasts a 9-hole golf course and offers swimming lessons, making it a great spot for active families.
  • Bird Watching: The bird sanctuary observation tower is a must-visit for breathtaking views and bird watching enthusiasts.
  • Festivities: The park hosts events such as Canada Day fireworks, which are highly praised by visitors.

Important Considerations

While most sites are primarily occupied by RVs, tent campers should be aware that some areas may lack sufficient tree cover for shade and privacy. Additionally, the use of air conditioning units might add some ambient noise, which could interfere with a desire for complete tranquility at certain sites.

Overall Thoughts

Last Mountain Regional Park provides a mix of leisure and activity with its beautiful natural setting and ample recreational options. It’s a perfect destination for families looking to enjoy a variety of outdoor pursuits while also having access to modern amenities.

Last Mountain Lake Regional Park is lovely, clean, and reasonably quiet. The area that shows as unserviced is not a well treed tenting area. Site 119 has a little shelter belt for the tent, but the rest is wide open. Most sites are occupied by glampers and instead of the peaceful sounds of the great outdoors, we heard white noise of the air conditioning units. Many of the sites have solar lights or string lights, so there is no dark night either. The boat launch area is clean and easy to access. Washroom facility for showers is near the lake, in the campground is port o potty - also very clean and stocked with hand sanitizer. There is access to nonpotable water near the near the portopotty. If you are looking for a back to nature tenting experience, keep looking. If you are looking for a lovely paddle on the lake, the water was lovely and the boaters are a nice distance from Bird Island so you can kayak or canoe very safely. For families, there is a pool, a concession, and a lovely beach/swimming area.

You wanna talk long! Yeah like 93km long! Great boating location for summer fun on the wakeboard or tube. Just be wary as it is a wide open lake so any wind can cause white caps. And due to it being more of a southern lake as summer goes along it can get quite green. Though it is also a fun lake for ice fishing in the winter time. Take the hockey sticks and skates and play a little shinny while you wait for the tip ups to trigger!

We visited the park for Canada Day. The food at the consession was very good. The pool was great. We also visited the bird sanctuary observation tower. The views were incredible. There were fireworks in the evening and they were the best fireworks i have seen in many years. It was a great park and i look forward to visiting again.
