Key Highlights and Tips

  • Great for RVs: If you are traveling with an RV, you’ll find the sites well-suited for your needs, and the waterfront locations are particularly popular for their stunning views.
  • Family Activities: The campground provides tickets to Upper Canada Village and offers rentals for paddleboards and kayaks, enhancing your stay with a variety of activities.
  • Dog-Friendly Cabins: There are dog-friendly cabins available, though not all are directly on the waterfront. It could be a minor inconvenience but allows you to bring your furry friends along.
  • Store Proximity: A large grocery store nearby makes it easy to stock up on essentials without needing to bring all your food supplies.
  • Privacy Considerations: Some campers have noted a lack of privacy, especially for tent sites. The campground is more suited for those who don't mind close neighbors.
  • Campground Services: While the staff is friendly and accommodating, there are some limitations, such as no firewood delivery to your site and a lack of amenities for tent campers like water taps and fire pit grills.

Overall Thoughts

Overall, Mclaren Campground offers a charming and serene camping experience, particularly for RV campers and families looking for a budget-friendly vacation with plenty of nearby activities. The breathtaking views of the river, clean facilities, and friendly atmosphere make it a welcoming destination. However, tent campers seeking more privacy and specific amenities may want to weigh these considerations before visiting. The positive interactions with staff and fellow campers, along with the natural beauty of the surroundings, contribute to making this campground a memorable place to visit.

Great for RVs, Lovely grass sites located near Cornwall. We spent a week this year with my family, and we had a great time. The place was quiet, and the waterfront sites were worth the price. We got to spend some time at the many beaches; everything was clean and very well managed. My only gripe would be the lack of privacy, but that is something we have gotten used to since we got rid of the tents. They gave us tickets to Upper Canada Village with our stay, which was a nice bonus. The children really enjoyed it. We had some rough weather with Debby passing by, but with so many things to do within an hour's radius, it never got boring. Thanks to Mike and Jenny for the rentals, which definitely made our stay more enjoyable with the paddleboards and kayaks. We made some good memories of Eastern Canada and look forward coming back in the future!

During my stay, I was in a dog friendly cabin for 4 nights. The cabins were very nice but would prefer if the ones right on the water were dog friendly but it is what it is. The employees were super nice, but the reason for the 4 stars for service is the fact that they can’t deliver firewood, but I wasn’t a big inconvenience for us as we had a big truck. There was a big grocery store nearby so we didn’t even have to bring food. Overall, there was beautiful view and would recommend to anyone who wants a nice vacation without spending too much money and wants to come with their dogs and family/friends.

Definitely not for tent camping even though they have multiple waterfront sites for tents. Zero privacy, no water taps located for tent sites even though you pay a premium. No grills over fire pit and during our stay no ice at office. This is just a large trailer park, so if you are into being able to see and hear all your neighbours and have a trailer, this might be for you. It is such a waste as they could have made the one side of the park for tents only and the other side for people who like to travel with the entire house.

Mclaren is part of St. Lawrence Parks. Beautiful campground. It was a nice stay. People were very friendly. The campsite I picked was waterfront, pictures are directly from my site. Campground was very clean and at night was very quiet. Definitely will return!

Beautiful spot for camping with many sites near the water so you get an awesome view of the river. Employees and campers were very friendly and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.
