Great spot to bird watch and enjoy some tranquility in the GTA. Spring can get pretty muddy and a little buggy, but if that doesn’t both you, it’s a nice place for a visit and hike to the southern point of the bay.

My wife and I have been here few times and we always loved walking along the coast. The tidal waves are always soothing to my ears. For us, fall is the best time of the year to visit this place.

It's the perfect spot to unwind and connect with nature. The walking paths are well-maintained, and there's always something to hear or see—whether it's the sound of birds chirping or the sight of trees swaying in the breeze. A great place for a peaceful escape!

The McLaughlin Bay Wildlife Reserve is a peaceful place to stop for a hike through the marsh (I suggest boots or even better rain boots) note this is a marsh area so there is mud and some bugs but worth it for the natural reserve. The wild life is active here and best caught first thing in the morning in my opinion. Great spot for photographers for natural landscapes sunrises. Ive been lucky enough to catch the morning fog/dew and it is stunning. Please note driveway/path is bumpy but there is free parking at the end. There are no garbage bins due to wildlife I assume so please be mindful of that when visiting this spot. There is a Johnny on the spot here and map of the trials

Easy relatively flat trail. We went after some heavy rain, so there's some uneven spots caused by the rain. The trail map is not the easiest to understand take a photo of the map and note the name of the path will help you. It's a beautiful trail and it leads to the shoreline. Perfect view. Bugs are on the aggressive side. We got a few bites on our face, legs and arms even with DEET bug spray. So go prepare!
