A gem of a little campground in the beautiful town of Merrickville. Sites are not large but are situated right on the Rideau Canal. Roughly a third to a half of the sites offer electrical and water hookups. Well run with friendly, helpful management. The bathrooms were clean during our entire stay. Easy reservations online. All just steps away from the attractive locks, shops, restaurants and historical buildings this picturesque little town has to offer, this campground is a must-stop for anyone spending some time in the area!

I would recommend this campground but with caution. The good: the sites are nice, alot of grass, right on the water, free firewood, close (in) town. The Not-So-Good: MANAGEMENT (husband was worse); there were a couple reviews about management singling out "weekenders" and picking on specific groups which I definitely felt. We were confronted about the washroom which the husband admitted to watching every customer out of the womens washroom "to ensure they locked the door behind them"...walked all the way to our site to uncomfortably talk to the young ladies about the door which we in fact had locked. They nit-picked our mosquito net shelter over the table as "someone could be sleeping in that" when we had a camper trailer for everyone to sleep. All-in-all we had close to $60 in additional charges because they kept coming at us for things they say should have been paid extra for, and we didn't want a fight so we paid. We did the same we do at every campground and have never had additional charges, acknowledging we misunderstood the amount of adults allowed on the site but everything else really felt like charges because we were just casual campers they were picking on. We were quiet, respectful, were recommended by a friend, and still treated like lower class for some reason. I liked the campground but I won't return.

Small space for camping, not a lot of space in between campers, but awesome location by the Rideau Canal and walking distance to downtown. Great restaurants close by. The washrooms on the campground are kept clean at all times.
