A wonderful location to stay. The hosts are the best, we had a special wait before crossing the border, so I contacted Kathy and Jo, and they were so accommodating. The owners' dedication shows, the park is well laid out, access to forested, and shoreline and nature all around. From the creative log planters at the entrance to the children's playground, it was well presented. We are seniors, so we didn't need those "family" features but I did evaluate them. This is a good family setting. I'd want to stay here again, perhaps when we could stay longer. I got photos of dozens of hawks circling, eagles building nests above us, and a herd of deer that casually walks by twice a day. Nature lovers should keep their cameras ready. The proximity to the ocean must be cooler than campgrounds further inland in hotter months. Rates are very good, the service and care excellent. I have many photos to upload later, but strongly recommend this campground. I know you won't be disappointed.

Mostly seasonal, but the nightly sites are really nice with a water view. The bay is a little muddy at low tide, I wouldn’t swim there but there was a little spit we could walk to dog on no and let him off leash to play fetch for a few minutes. Really friendly hosts- there was a number to call posted at the office but our phones weren’t working in Canada, eventually they arrived and checked us in.

The owners are super nice. So nice that I hate leaving this review. The campground is run down. I can see how it most likely used to be beautiful but the little things to maintain it like falling over fences, paint pealing on picnic tables and such make it less than idea. The tunnel to get to one side of the bay is a death trap and we couldn’t find an access place for the tidal side. Sites have great space but we prefer camping in trees not a field with a view of run down rusty trailers. It’s mostly seasonal campers and only a few take care of their sites. This may be someone’s ideal kind of camping. It was not ours. We left a day early.

My husband and I just spent three nights at Oak Bay Campground while attending a funeral of my relative. Kathy and Joe have a great campground and are always available to make sure your stay is an enjoyable one.

The RV people scream and fight and blast music all night. Their dogs fight. The tent sites are next to that noise; if you want to sleep through the night, choose someplace else.
