If you don't want crowds, want to book last minute, don't want a long drive from Calgary and like a quiet camping experience, this is the campground for you! There is NO lake, NO potable water (there is water for washing dishes though), NO power, NO cell service (15m drive to cell service). All this tends to keep people away. But it's huge! The camp sites are very large and well treed. There are pull through camp sites. There used to be a lake but it's gone now. There was plans for an amphitheatre (see attached map) but that never happened. It's the campground time forgot... which can be a blessing. Kids had a great time just chilling in the camp site with a wood fire (a rare opportunity these days), playing in the playground or playing in the woods. Note: Many of the "interpretive exhibits" on the map no longer exist.

This is a decent place for people who want to escape from city for a day or two. After getting off from highway and enter super gravel road, that’s where the cellular service is gone. The registry has a shop opens from 4 pm to 9 pm, where a lot of essential items are available. The paths are narrow, where some irresponsible owners don’t have their dogs on tight leash are retarded (my wife was almost got bitten by a huge dog while the owner said “she never did that before”). Hand pump water is not safe to drink, and the location of them on the map online is not correct. One night there were teenagers yelling and laughing after midnight, which was really annoying. Besides that, it can be considered as an OK place to camp.

Nice campground with no cell service. We stayed at A50 and were able to fit a 9 person tent, 6 person tent and 2 vehicles, we had plenty of room. I’d definitely recommend this site if you like having lots of room. Close walk to the washrooms. Only downside is that the main office opens at 4pm to buy firewood.

This campground is very beautiful! There are many drives you can take and many hikes from easy to hard. Canmore is only 40 mins away. Firewood is good and $10 a bundle. The lake was low but oh well. Sites are very private and large. Best part is there was no service.

IT COSTS $74 TO SPEND ONE NIGHT HERE!!!! Nice, not worth anywhere near the price. It was a nice enough primitive campground. Spacious sites, tree cover. In the tent only loop, there is no electrical hook ups, no potable water, and pit toilets. Easy access to hiking trails. One night at the tent only campsite: $43 A vehicle day pass for the area: $31.50 (you have to buy two days of passes, 1 pass only lasts you to midnight of that day, not for 24h like a national parks pass.) Total: $74.50 for ONE NIGHT It is absolutely not worth anywhere near $74. Spend your money and time somewhere else.
