I was not to sure of the whole picture throughout the construction phase but upon completion I find I am pleasantly pleased with the outcome. Well done to the engineering staff. Very open, no clutter and nice pitches for the kids.

Very popular park amongst people living in that neighbourhood and Grey Nunn's hospital staffs. However, there is a need of more lights as people use to cross the park at night to get to Youville Drive East. It would have been more appreciated to have a kids corner with water splash, swings etc.

Lovely gravel trails to walk, perfect place beside the hospital for quiet time in the middle of the city. Other than the Golf Course, the hill is one of the highest publicly accessible points in Mill Woods from ground level. The park is under threat though, as a drainage pond may replace the hill at the location to relieve storm-sewer overflow. Tawa Park was renamed to Sister Mary Ann Casey in 2008 by the City of Edmonton naming committee. It fits in with the Catholic heritage in the immediate area, with Youville Drive (named after Canadian Saint Marie-Marguerite d'Youville) and Grey Nuns hospital (the order Youville founded). Sister Mary Ann Casey founded the Edmonton General Hospital School of Nursing, was the first director, and received the Grey Nuns Order of Recognition. She was named an Edmontonian of the century in 2004.
