Sleepy Cedars Family Camping, affectionately known as "Sleepy Cedars," is a family-oriented campground which many describe as a hidden gem. Located near the Ottawa region, it offers a range of activities suited for all ages. From a saltwater pool and engaging activities like mini golf, wagon rides, swimming, to relaxed games of bingo and darts - there's something for everyone to enjoy. The owners are praised for their friendly and approachable demeanor, making guests feel welcomed and assisted throughout their stay.
While the amenities and leisure activities come highly recommended, it's important to note some considerations. A few guests mentioned that the camping spots are not fully leveled and that the playground could benefit from updates. Additionally, paid showers and a strict entrance policy (campground gate closes at 7pm) might be factors to plan around during your visit. Cleanliness of the washrooms was cited as another area for improvement.
Visitors appreciate the close proximity to Ottawa's Parliament Hill, enhancing its appeal for those looking to blend camping with a bit of sightseeing. However, noise levels from late-night music sessions could be a concern for those seeking tranquility.
Overall Thoughts
Overall, Sleepy Cedars Family Camping offers a robust array of activities and a welcoming atmosphere, making it a favorite for repeat visitors. While there are some areas for improvement, particularly regarding facility maintenance and policies, it remains an attractive option for families looking for a friendly and activity-rich camping experience near Ottawa.

Sleepy Cedars is a hidden gem! First time camping in our new travel trailer and didn't know what to expect. The park is well cared for and has a salt water pool that our grandchildren loved. The owners are pleasant, friendly, approachable and very helpful. Lots of activities available - pool table, ping pong, wagon rides, mini golf, swimming, bingo, darts, bean bag baseball to name a few. I recommend checking out Sleepy Cedars next time you're looking for a campground near Ottawa.

Had to give it 2 stars because the spots are not fully leveled , you can only come into the campground until 7pm (they close the gate after 7pm) , showers are paid , dirty washrooms, outdated playground. They let people blast their karaoke music until 10pm. The pool in the other hand was great and they are pretty close to Parliment hill .

Grew up in the 90s visiting Ottawa every summer camping at another local Greely campground. Started coming here last year 2023 as my former could not accommodate me at all. Sleepy cedars did. This is currently my second year returning and i will continue to come here.

This place is amazing. Staff are always cheerful and welcoming. Other people staying there are happy and kind. If your looking to get a lot or even a weekend camping trip with friends/family this is the place to go. Family has been coming here for a few years now and won't go anywhere else!

Worst experience ever, went for a one night vacation with husband away from the kids for some peace and quiet . We ended up leaving, I cried the whole way home. Wrong gender bathroom was used on accident and was threatened from three guests with no help from the owner what so ever. In front of owner guests were saying husband couldn't" speak properly " because he his black and has an accent, Some of the most cruelest and vile things were said while the owner sat back and did nothing, filing a police report over the threats of violence and hate crime committed Hope they get what's coming to them.
