  • Bicycle-Friendly: The campground offers dedicated bicycle sites, complete with a sheltered eating area and bear caches for storing valuables securely.
  • Family-Friendly: This is a family-oriented campsite where quiet and cleanliness are consistently praised.
  • First-Come, First-Served Basis: The campsite operates on a first-come, first-served basis, which can make landing a spot challenging, especially during peak times.
  • Site Size and Privacy: Some users have noted that the camp sites are small and close together, which might affect privacy and make the campground feel crowded.

Best thing about this place is the water! The staff are very kind and the spots were great except the wasps. My pregnant daughter got stung :(

The bicycle sites are in the former “group site” so offer a sheltered eating area and social atmosphere, but the 4 tent pads are squished together. It would be great if the pads could eventually be spaced out. Now the cycling sites have 4 bear caches, one for each tent pad; and if you bring a padlock you can lock away your valuables! I find this is a wonderful campsite; quiet, clean, and decently priced. I’ve never had issues with noisy campers here, normally it’s very quiet and family-oriented. A great overnight bike trip when you need to get out of the city for a bit.

Probably the nicest, well kept campgrounds in the south Island. First come first serve (the way all campgrounds should be). The river is beautiful and fun to hangout in. The washrooms are spacious and maintained. Garbage and recycling on the grounds. Cheap rates. Highly recommend.

Great campground for bike touring. Dedicated space for cyclists and the most important the bears box safety. For more tips & tricks find us on instagram & YouTube @lebruitdugravier

Beautiful spot to go hang out for the day, not so much for camping. The sites are really small and close together with no privacy. If you like to be woken up at 7am with kids screaming everywhere then this place might work. If there's no fire ban, it get super smoky further up into the campground as there's way to many sites for the size of the place. There are a few sites that are nicer but good luck landing one. It's always packed on a first come first serve basis so maybe some week days can be a little better. The bundle of wood they sell was ridiculously small for the price. If you have room, bring your own fire wood. The swimming and the view is amazing!
