Will probably not go back. The staff were not knowledgeable about activities going on, the map was terrible and sent us down a rocky road, photos are not updated as to what is there. States 4 cabins but we only saw 2, the cabin was nice. Indoor playground was wet and damp from leaking. The pool was freezing but clean and big. Hard to get ahold of anyone on the phone, called multiple times when lost and ended up asking a man who worked there he laughed and said it happens often and gave great directions.

Pros: We stayed at South Mountain in our travel trailer for two weeks. Overall it's a great site with lots of amenities; toilets, showers, laundry (bring change loonies & quarters as the office doesn't always have change), swimming pool (would benefit from a clean), inflatable waterslide for kids, paddle boats just $2 for 30 mins & they provide life preservers, ponds with ducks & turtles (mating season whilst we were there so turtles do get particularly noisy, especially late at night!). Small shop at the office with all you need & fire wood (firepits at the sites). Bingo, pool table & activities by the office building & fun tractor ride for the kids, as well as basketball nets & tennis courts. Dogs are permitted & there's a small grassy area to walk your dog. We found the staff to be welcoming & helpful. The garbage & recycling gets emptied quite frequently. The campground is not too far from other small towns; Kentville, Coldbrook, New Minas, Wolfville, Timmy's, farm shop & easy access to Highway 101. Several beaches one hour plus away. There's also a dyke & lake walk across the street (beware of the bluey/green algae!) Cons: Our spot was mixed in with the seasonals, which we wouldn't have minded, but we found quite a few of them unfriendly, who kept staring at us & didn't speak even when we tried to make conversation! There were two seasonal campers right behind us (friends I guess) that drank alcohol & blasted music through their outside speakers from about 11am until 11.30pm, sometimes midnight! (Past quiet time!!). The trailer/rv spots are quite close to each other. It would've been nice to be away from the seasonals as they did spoil our time there somewhat. They acted like they owned the place & we weren't welcome there!! (Not all of them, just a few campers in particular). For this reason we wouldn't go back unless we were located away from seasonals! We were also close to a pond & the mosquitos were pretty bad, more so at night!

Probably will never be back. The bathrooms were disgusting all weekend, toilets overflowing constantly. Went to use the canteen bathrooms and those eventually got shut down. Fire ban was on which is our fault for not checking but a lot of seasonals had fires. Pool tables were $2.25 for 15 min.. it’s a no from me.

Never stay on site R-21. They should not even offer people to stay there, in fact. Less than 20 meters from the road, it is almost impossible to sleep because of the sounds of cars and trucks. Extremely loud. It looks like you are camping in the middle of downtown.
