Important Considerations

  • Pet security: There have been reports of missing pets, particularly cats, raising concerns about the safety of unattended pets. It is advisable to keep a close eye on your pets at all times.

Overall Thoughts

Springhill RV Park is a well-maintained and convenient choice for travelers with large rigs, offering easy access to Calgary and Banff. Although the park provides many essential amenities, there are some limitations including drainage issues and basic WiFi connectivity. The safety of pets, particularly cats, has been a concern among some visitors. However, if you are vigilant about these aspects, Springhill RV Park can be a comfortable and convenient stop on your journey.

Enjoyed staying here. Some full time residents. Large parking area to hook & unhook road & even get diesel at Shell station in front of campground. Well maintained- gravel sites. No issues for large rigs. About 30 minutes to Tuscany train station to catch train into downtown Calgary (about 30 minutes). Easy & safe. Campground backs up to SR 22. No problem with traffic noise. Would definitely stay here again. 90 minute ride to Banff.

Stayed here for a week before the Stampede started. The location was great because it was only a short distance to Cochrane with all the services you could need but also had a gas station with diesel and propane, liquor & convenience store at the entrance. The park was secured with a gate that required a refundable deposit key card. The key card gave you access to the grounds but also the washrooms and laundry. Laundry prices were about what to be expected. I didn’t use the washrooms but others commented on price, which I agree was kind of steep. The lots were fairly level with nice gravel, a fire pit and picnic table. The only downside was when we got some heavy rain, the area with my utilities flooded pretty badly and covered my electric plugs, until I was able to raise them with a container. The did come to pump out the water but then it rained again… not all the sites had this issue so just be aware. The playground area was also super nice for kids. There is no dog park, but there are a couple of grassy areas with a fence and tree lines that if you’re dog is good off leash you can let them run there. WiFi: basically don’t count on it. They let you know it’s only for basic things but I had little to no success even connecting on my phone. It’s hard to understand why they don’t upgrade and password protect it for better service but just know what you’re getting when you arrive. Use your hotspot, satellite, starlink, etc. UPDATE: I did learn that the cost to upgrade internet was in the $100s CAD so that makes more sense, but still be prepared.

For the whole RV park only 1 single bathroom stall in the men's. Had to use coins to operate the shower after already paying $75 a night. Everything was clean and well maintained.

Don't use the facility or camp here. When campers bring their cats to the campground to have them while camping with them, they go missing. The owners don't like cats and some missing pet pages I follow have posted their missing animals that have disappeared from this RV park. If you love your pets, don't use this place...put them out of business as they are suspected of harming animals, especially cats.

I am leaving this review simply to warn people that pets have been taken from this campground, leaving pet owners heartbroken and without any answers. If you stay here with your pet, do NOT leave them unattended at any time. Management is reportedly unhelpful in helping put up signs / warning people about this problem, which is why I felt the need to leave this review.
