Struthers Lake Regional Park Authority

Struthers Lake Regional Park Authority is an inviting destination for those seeking a small, non-commercialized camping experience. Nestled by the charming Struthers Lake, this park offers a unique blend of recreational activities and tranquil escapes. Visitors often commend the park for its friendly patrons and staff, making it a welcoming place for both solo adventurers and families.

Highlights and Tips

  • Customer Service: The staff is noted for excellent customer service, often going above and beyond to accommodate guests.
  • Activities & Features: The park provides various amenities, including play areas for children, a beach for swimming, hiking trails, and even ball diamonds for sports enthusiasts. However, mini golf facilities may occasionally be unavailable.
  • Camping Facilities: Campsites here are smaller than those found in provincial parks, and amenities like electrical hookups can vary. It’s advisable to confirm the specifications of your reservation as there might be limited sites with specific amenities such as 30 amp connections and water hookups.
  • Nature and Peace: The area offers no cellular signal, which can be both a blessing for a digital detox and a concern in case of emergencies. There's a designated quiet time, enhancing the peaceful environment, though enforcement might be inconsistent.
  • Challenges: Some areas, such as the slides to the lake, may require attention for safety reasons, and facilities might feel weathered. Keep these points in mind while visiting and exercising caution.

Overall Thoughts

Struthers Lake Regional Park offers a delightful escape with the charm of a small, local getaway. While it might not provide the expansive amenities of a larger, commercialized park, its unique atmosphere and committed staff create a memorable experience. It's an ideal spot for those who appreciate tranquility and a sense of community, with opportunities to engage in traditional recreational activities amidst nature.

Great customer service. Nancy went above and beyond in booking our reservation. We cancelled it at first because of the mosquitoes issues. Then we ask to book it again as we want to see a new camp site. We learned that campsing spot for regional park is way smaller than procincial parks. Quiet time is 11 pm but kids are still awake at 1 am😳The slides going to the lake is unsafe for kids. They can cut their legs sliding down. The bottom part is worn out. No enough water for the slide to keep it slippery. Washroom is also old. No cellular signal. Good and bad thing for us. Good as kids can stay away from gadget. Bad is if there is an emergency message or call you wont be able to get it right away. The park is beaten up already. Overall its ok.

We stayed overnight and it's a nice place. The camping area was nice, the whole place was clean. There are play areas for kids, concession, swimming/play area, and hiking trails. It's not one of the big commercialized parks, and that's what makes it so nice.

The park was quiet and beautiful, mini golf temporarily down, beach was awesome, good sized portions at canteen. Would have received higher rating but when I called to reserve our campsite, I requested 30 amp and water at the site, we actually had a 20 amp site and no water and I wasn’t told when I made the reservation. When I brought it up at the office I was told they only have 4 sites with 30 amp and water that aren’t seasonal and they go fast, sorry.
