Our experience was amazing. The facilities were very clean, including the pool. Staff was very friendly throughout our stay. Our grandchildren had an awesome time in the little kids' pool and on the bounce hill. We will definitely go again and would highly recommend Sun Retreats Amherstburg.

We stayed in one of the cabins the first weekend of June. Very disappointed. The price for the cabin was way to high for what we got. We had to bring all our own bedding, towels and dish and bathroom sink soap. It had a coffee maker but no filters. Everything was bare minimum. We were not told before we got there that the pool was not open. I emailed the company with our complaints and no one has gotten back to us. I have rented many cabins in the past for less money that had all bedding etc supplied. All we have had to bring is food and clothes. The park itself is nice and the people are nice as well. Just need to offer way more amenities or drop the price.

Nice campground but very frustrating when you book a site they move you if you don’t pay a 30.00 dollar additional premium fee to hold the site you have chosen. Never have I ever heard of a charge. I’ve have camped all over Ontario & US. People there were very friendly and park seemed manicured well. I’d give a higher score but that premium fee just isn’t right!!! What a very patronizing response! lol

It was our first time camping there on a beautiful tent site with internet, hydro & water. After traveling quite a distance, we arrived late, and their check-in office was closed. But, we were happy to discover that they were kind enough to leave us a welcome note and a detailed map to help us quickly locate our pre-reserved campsite in the dark. Then, when we checked in at the office the next morning, Doug was very receptive and welcoming, and he spent lots of extra time to answer our many questions about the campground's facilities, programs, and nearby local attractions, etc. When you meet Doug, make sure to check out the many amazing tattoos that he has, especially the ones that were designed to honor the deep love that he has for his daughter. Wowza. And Kait, who also works in the office, was also amazing, too. We enjoyed conversing with her about her love of nature and her canine companions. We can't wait to return again to use their well-kept facilities, including the washrooms, showers, pool, mini-golf, and maybe when no one's looking, try doing a twirl on their gigantic bouncy pad. There's so much more...themed events, snack shack, ice cream, library, rec hall, band stand, peddle bikes, etc, etc. A job very well done, Sun Retreats team ... thank you for a great experience!

So we have always picked the " old jellystone" to camp at so we chose it for our first camping trip of this year along with celebrating father's day, I called in advance and booked like normal and it went super smooth like it normally dose . So it's Friday and we pack up the vehicle and 5th wheel and get there after a long day super thrilled to set up and take all 4 kids swimming.... turns out as soon as we pulled in there is absolutely no swimming they pool is still not open and this is weeks after opening. We are now furious that we spent the money to have ZERO communication about the pool not being opened in advance when I called to book and only finding out when we get there along with all the kids now upset in the vehicle about it All while knowing father's day weekend would obviously be booked up and everyone expecting to swim...... a better heads up would be a million times better than having 4 disappointed kids and also having a BUNCH of other campers coming to ask you if they told you about the pool not being opened before hand and being furious as well a discount for a future stay would have been nice.... if that can happen I'd love to hear back and remove my review... The campground is and always clean and friendly staff along with other great campers but this time was a huge disappointment..
