About This Campsite

Sunnyside Campground

Sunnyside Campground is a large and well-treed camp area offering various amenities and recreational opportunities, making it a popular choice for families and outdoor enthusiasts. Located near a beautiful, clean lake, it provides plenty of areas for walking, biking, and enjoying nature.

Key Features

  • Large, shaded campsites
  • Multiple playgrounds for children
  • Various spots for biking and walking
  • Electricity, water, and sewerage hookups available
  • Close proximity to a beautiful lake

Important Considerations

  • Bathrooms can be hit or miss in terms of cleanliness.
  • Campsites may feel crowded and lack privacy.
  • Issues with security, especially regarding noise after quiet hours.
  • Non-smoking rules are not strictly enforced, leading to unpleasant odors.
  • Limited Wi-Fi access only near the check-in booth.

Overall Thoughts

Sunnyside Campground offers a picturesque setting and ample amenities for enjoying the great outdoors, particularly suited for families due to its playgrounds and clean lake. However, cleanliness of the bathrooms, campsite privacy, and enforcement of rules are significant downsides that may impact your camping experience. If you prefer a more secluded and tranquil environment, you may want to consider other options.

We go here every year for the past four years. Very nice clean lake and lots of area to go for walks or bike. Many play grounds for the kids and many bathrooms around the whole camp. Four stars because some of the bathrooms are really dirty but there are a few that are good. I do recommend this place. Big sites and lots of trees make it beautiful.

Nope! Not my kind of camping. It felt like a parking lot with some trees sprinkled around. Way too crowded! No privacy at all between sites. They only cleaned the bathroom once a day — it was so gross! I’d rather have a pit toilet if there is going to be mud and dirt all over the bathrooms. Lots of late night parties which I didn’t mind so much, but there were people fighting and security had to come break it up. The lake is nice but there are other beaches that access the same lake. The sad thing is, I’ve been here three times because my friends keep rebooking. I’m just going to ignore the FOMO and stay home next year.

We camped at this place for Victoria Day and it was a very enjoyable weekend. It's a beautiful place with all the amenities within reach... electricity, water and sewerage for your mobile home... The only detail was that the bathrooms were not very clean.

Abysmal security. Our site was sandwiched between two sites with amplified devices (which aren't allowed at any time) cranking out tunes past the 11 o'clock quiet time. One site was obnoxious until 3am. Security did nothing. For the amount of money we spent there, it should be run a thousand times better than it is. Picnic tables and fire pits strewn all over the place. Quite a dump. But hey they'll be quick to take your money at the store. Will not return.

Definitely not the place for me to go camping! I will never return to this campground. I booked a site a couple months in advance, according to their website the campsite I booked would fit my 30’ trailer. I arrived on a long weekend to find out the site would be more suitable for a tent trailer at most. Luckily the manager was able to swap us to another spot otherwise our weekend would have been ruined because they were fully booked with no other options. Cultus is supposed to be non smoking environment but all you could smell was cigarettes and weed being smoked throughout the campground. The campground beach was filthy with garbage everywhere and the water was also very murky and lots of debris floating but if you go to entrance beach, it was spotless and super clean and warm water. RCMP patrolled the campground frequently along with sunny sides own security. It’s nice camping in a forest but this campground is anything but private! Says wifi but the only wifi is at the check in booth at the entrance to the campground, otherwise cell phone service is almost non existent as well. The one girl working the front desk that has glasses (sometimes) and had red nails needs to find a new job that she may actually enjoy working at. It was clearly and issue for her to sit up out of her thrown and get off her phone to assist you. I could understand that you may work with a lot of rude customers but that does not mean you start off being rude yourself. Put a smile on and greet your customers with some positive energy! Please think twice before going to this campground.
