Tips and Important Considerations
- Site Reservations: Secure your preferred campsite by paying an extra fee online to avoid any mix-ups upon arrival.
- Sanitation Facilities: Be prepared for potentially less-than-ideal conditions in bathrooms and porta-potties, especially towards the end of the season.
- Bug Protection: Bring plenty of bug spray, as mosquitoes and flies can be overwhelming.
- Quiet Hours: Keep in mind that quiet time policies may not always be strictly enforced. Stay flexible and bring earplugs if needed.
- Garbage and Cleanliness: Be ready to deal with some cleanliness issues like overflowing garbage and unclean sites.
- Overbooking: Double booking seems to occur occasionally, so verify your site's availability in advance and stay vigilant upon arrival.

Overall Thoughts
Surfside Beach Campground And RV Park can offer a unique camping experience close to the beach, especially if you enjoy beachside environments and a vibrant atmosphere. However, be prepared for potential issues such as overbooking, cleanliness, and crowded conditions. Bringing your own sanitation supplies, bug spray, and earplugs might make your stay more comfortable. Enjoy the nearby Tiki Bar for some good food and drinks, but manage your expectations regarding site facilities and overall campground organization.

Our first trip was great. Our second trip with the long weekend so was a lot busier. We showed up to our campsite to find a full family there. Went to the office and was told you have to pay an extra $10 online to lock in your camp site? So we went to the campsite we were moved to and another family was set up there. We ended up at a random campsite that wasn’t taken that was half the size of the one we had initially paid for. By end of seasons the bathrooms are literally impossible to use. Soooo disgusting.

First time staying here. Booked a 2 night weekend stay, arrived Friday afternoon and quickly ended up packing and leaving on Saturday morning. Office staff friendly and helpful upon check in. Sites are not the same as depicted online, much smaller, except for our site number 24 it was the largest and only a few steps to the beach. It was very hard to tell what we were getting as there are no site specific photos online. Our site number was hidden in the tall grass so initially hard to know which site was ours. Upon arrival there was someone parked on our site, but they quickly moved over. Their large group of 10+ people kept walking directly through our site to get to the beach even after asking politely twice not too as we were trying to set up and moving our items around. This group continued to move from site to site as campers with reservations started arriving. They did not have anything booked and we did feel like the office should be monitoring people coming in for the day as multiple groups coming in were confused as to why someone else was on their site. Porta potties: no toilet paper in sight. Rather dirty. Did not see anyone come by to check on cleanliness. Campsites: garbage around the site and the fire area was dirty as well. Bugs: absolutely insane. I’ve never experienced that many flies and mosquitoes in my life and went home with 60+ bug bites. Yes, we understand it was water front but I’m sure we aren’t the only campers to notice and maybe the owners could have sprayed to help prevent the bugs. Quiet time listed as 11:00pm as normal, but just our luck there was a very loud group a few sites over from us that were up until 4AM laughing, talking, partying it up. We could hear every word. We like to have a good time, but not like that when there are others to be considered. Multiple campers requested a bit of quiet as it was impossible to sleep. Yet they picked up again and continued throughout the night. Never have we experienced disrespect from other campers like that from any other location. We had such a poor sleep amidst everything about the campground we decided it wasn’t worth it to stay. I would recommend going for the day, or hope that no one else has an experience like this.

The camp spot was overpriced at $50 a night for a very small spot. No electricity. No water pump at all. No cell service. The toilets were filthy and not cleaned the whole weekend. And the garbage wasn’t picked up. It stunk! They come around trying to sell wood for $20 and not clean the lots all when someone leaves. They double booked us as per usual (I was told by other campers). The tiki bar was expensive also. And I didn’t dare try the food with no running water.
